SIRCGR 15-year Retrospective Video
Thank you for your interest and for visiting Soroptimist International of Rancho Cordova and Gold River. Our club turned 15 on 8/1/2024!!!
Our club members are enthusiastic, diverse, friendly, and passionate about helping people in our community and around the world. Although our name is “Rancho Cordova and Gold River” we do not limit our membership to just those that live in these communities. We have had, or currently have, members from Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Gold River, Lincoln Village, Anatolia, Mather, Rosemont, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, Natomas, Orangevale, Shingle Springs, Rocklin, and Folsom too. Our membership is not limited to women either! The Soroptimist organization has male members too, which is AWESOME!
A global volunteer movement, Soroptimist International has worked to transform the lives of women and girls through a network of over 75,000 club members in 133 countries and territories worldwide for over 100 years. This work is accomplished through local club and regional projects as well as membership to the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, the UN High Level Political Forum, the UN Commission on the Status of Women, and the UN Commission on Social Development.
Our club’s projects are some of the most rewarding and fun experienced, and believe that you, too, will be swept away with our passion and enthusiasm. We hope you will join us in our efforts and help us change the lives of even more people.
There are dozens of clubs throughout the Sacramento area. If our club doesn’t complement your work or life schedule, we encourage you to check out a club whose meeting location and time is better suited. Contact the Region Membership Coordinator at membership@soroptimistsnr.org, and she will help you find just the right club. I will say, that our club is one of the few clubs that meets in the evening (6:30pm), which is appealing for busy working people and our club has fewer “rules” than most.
- Our club believes that your life and family should come before the club’s business. We don’t require attendance (there are a few clubs that will penalize you if you miss a certain percentage of meetings), although we hope you can attend as many meetings as possible to get the most from your membership.
- We also don’t require that you raise a certain amount of money or sell a certain amount of event tickets (there are a few other clubs that do). Our club respects your time and financial resources.
Our business meetings are open to the public and we invite anyone to join us in our projects and community service projects. We encourage you to visit a few meetings or volunteer for some of our projects to learn about us first to ensure our club, or organization, is right for you. Our calendar of meetings and volunteer projects are on the right side of this page. We look forward to meeting you soon!
